Life is an adventure. It is certainly true when RVing. You just never know how things are going to go. We started our Southwest trip on Friday morning by meeting our friends, Harry and Carol Albright at the Dunkin Donuts in Carlisle. From there we traveled to Buckeye Lake KOA in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. Harry and Carol have a Class C RV. (That's it in the photo below.) Harry refers to them as Mini (theirs) and Maxi (ours). This was our view most of the way to Ohio. Don't cha just love that blue sky!!??
When we arrived at our campground, we discovered that our entry steps into our RV would not retract! Oh, no!! Now what?? Because our assigned site at the campground was not level, we could not go there for fear of breaking our steps, so we were given a site next to the bath house on the other side of the campground from Harry and Carol. Thankfully, we did have electricity and water. Here is a picture of our site. Not pretty, but sufficient.
We tried to get find someone who could look at the steps and help figure out what was wrong, but it was Friday late afternoon...so no luck. One guy promised to come out to take a look on Saturday morning, but Harry (and Steve) decided to do some investigating on their own. Harry carries all kinds of tools with him, so they crawled under the RV. After some tinkering, they decided it was probably the motor. Can you figure out who is who?
Saturday morning found us visiting RCD Sales and Repair in Pataskala, Ohio. They were absolutely wonderful! They confirmed that we do need a new motor and tried to encourage us to stick around so they could replace it on Monday. They did not have the motor in stock and had to order it. Instead we opted to have the part shipped to my brother in Colorado. We will be stopping by to see him as we travel to Arizona so, hopefully, we can have it fixed then.
We did arrive safely at Sugar Creek Campground, in Crawfordsville, Indiana about 4:30 Saturday afternoon.
So, how are we getting in and out of our RV? So glad you asked. It is an adventure. (That should be the theme of this post) Harry had a vision...so he McGivered it. Two stools fastened together and lowered out of our RV with a rope. Well, it worked! I want a brain like that!
Since then we have gone to Walmart and gotten another stool to use. Looks a little scary, I know. We are being careful. Cody doesn't like it much.
We are tired, but grateful to have our friends, Harry and Carol, along on this adventure to encourage us and laugh with us.
Harry and Carol are having issues of their own. They are having some plumbing problems that could possibly deter them from finishing this trip with us. Monday, they hope to begin to figure out how and if their plumbing problems can be solved.
Please pray for our safety. We are so thankful for God's provision for us in every way.
This is the second time I have written this post. The first one I wrote disappeared. I'm new at this so I'm trying to figure it all out. I'll try to stay current, but be patient with me. I'm learning.

I'm enjoying reading this. Thanks for sharing.
